Distance

I see her in the distance,
but I cannot tell if she is frowning,
though I do not think she is smiling.
I just sense her in the distance.

Her emotion is endless.
I shiver from the storm of her tears
and tremble at the quake of her heart.

In the distance—
I may see her.
In the darkness—
I may feel her.

But I do not know what she is seeing
and I cannot tell what she is feeling.
